Art isn't it
An overview of some art that I like, not quite with some intense meaningful reaction, but just stuff I think is 'nice'

It's art #
I quite like art. In quite a rudimentary way, I couldn't sit there and tell you how I can feel the artist's sense of melancholy is coming through and directly affecting me. Or individually deconstruct the brush strokes and give meaning to each one like I'm Tai-Shan Schierenberg. But that's fine, I look at something and if I think it's nice, then it's nice. And nice is good.
Nice art out and about #
Some nice art that I've seen out and about.
Paul Klee - Woman Awakening at Berggruen Museum, Berlin. #
While it is still closed at time of typing the Berggruen Museum is genuinely amazing. Though not a huge building, the number of Picasso and Klee works they have is ridiculous.

Milan Grygar - at Národní galerie Praha #
A piece of art by Milan Grygar, of which I can't remember the title of now. This was on show in 2018 at the National Gallery Prague in the Trade Fair Palace building which is very unassuming on the outside, but mightly impressive on the inside, with a huge artium and lots of light.

Nai Swee Leng - Palm Tree and Jambu Bird at National Gallery Singapore #
Given the National Gallery Singapore is the world’s largest public collection of Southeast Asian modern art, there is a lot to be impressed by. But this particular piece by Singaporean Chinese ink artist Nai Swee Leng is just lovely.

Carlos Amorales - Peep Show at Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam #
No turkey? You fucking idiot, Jeremy! You total fucking idiot! That was your job, you fucking moron! You cretin! You're a fuckhead! That's what you are! A fucking shithead!
Wait, not that Peep Show, but I think this piece is something Jeremy would like if you take in the whole context.
The Factory was a retrospective exhibition by multidisciplinary artist Carlos Amorales at Stedelijk Museum.

Gustav Klimt - The Kiss at Österreichische Galerie Belvedere #
No words needed for this one.
Upper Belvedere is pretty nice you know.

Nice art in the home #
I do like ukiyo-e, the tiny details, the craftmanship, the skill. It's just great. So I've started a little collection, which sadly I'm currently bared from adding too.
Utagawa Hiroshige - Fifty-three Stations, Kanaya and Fukuroi #
Who wouldn't want some near 200 year old woodblock prints hanging on the wall (ahh I know, they're not in a display book hidden away, sacrilege!), especially when they're by one of the masters.
Shout out to Julian at the team at Gale and Co. in Kings Heath for the framing.

Tomikichiro Tokuriki - I #
I really like Tomikichiro Tokuriki work. Always lots of detail, atmosphere, story.
Here we have two framed prints again done by Gale and Co.
They are;
Golden Pavilion in Snow from the Fifteen Views of Kyoto.

Pine Tree of (at) Shin Karasaki from the Eight Views of Omi of series.

Tomikichiro Tokuriki - II #
A couple more from Tokuriki which I haven't yet got around to being framed.
All about the blues with these.
Mt Fuji from The Coast of Izu - Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji

Village of Gassho in Mt. Goka - Four Scenery of Vibrant Toyama
